Hello!
I was born and raised in Utah. I attended Early College at Weber State University, where I received my Associates Degree during high school. I then continued my education at the University of Utah Honors College, where I studied Political Science and History. I LOVED school which helped me develop a true passion for education.
After college I moved to Washington, DC to work for a US Senator, assisting primarily on work pertaining to their position on the Senate Judiciary Committee. After moving back to Utah, I then began a career in the finance industry, working as a High Networth Securities Trader. Lacking a sense of fulfillment and meaning after several years in this field, I once again made a major life pivot, quit the finance industry, spent seven months exploring several different countries, cultures, and ways of life, and finally settled into a position as a middle school math teacher.
When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy anything and everything outdoors. You can usually find me running trails throughout northern Utah, camping wherever I can hang my hammock, caring for my hundreds of plants, and knocking doors for political campaigns and social causes I believe in. I grew up playing competitive sports, primarily soccer and basketball, and continue this passion by playing indoor soccer during the winter and running an educational program for refugee youth through the Baseball Hall of Fame during the summer. I also love to explore new places as often as I can. I have lived in Barcelona, traveled to Spain many times in addition, and visited dozens of other countries as well as most of the states. I hope to continue to add to this list and explore new places in the future.
I am beginning my third year as the 7th-8th grade math teacher and could not be more excited to continue to grow GreenWood!
Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good.
