Dress Code

Dress Guidelines: GreenWood embraces hands-on, outdoor, and active learning. Students will be engaged in physical activity frequently, such as field experiences, active play on the field and in surrounding areas, sports and adventure activities, and more. For this reason, flip flops, high heels and wheeled shoes, are not appropriate footwear. Also for this reason – short, tight skirts or shorts are not appropriate. Students should be dressed to be active – sitting on the floor, exercising, etc. and still be covered appropriately (hems 2-3 inches above knee and on shoulders without exposing chest). Students may be exposed at any time to current weather conditions, such as extreme heat or cold and rain. They should be prepared (water bottles and sunscreen, for example) and dressed accordingly (jackets, hats, sturdy shoes). Always keep a change of clothes and shoes at the school!
